What a great Spring Break

We had a great time just enjoying each other!  Dustan was able to stay home on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (needless to say that hasn't happened in a while).  

On Friday, we played in the yard while enjoying the beautiful weather down here in Texas.  Both girls were exhausted  when it came time for naps, and we even splurged and walked to the movie store, where dad picked out the New Tinkerbell movie we were saving for the day Soph came home dry from School, and I couldn't say no.  So we sat down together and watched Tinkerbell. 

On Saturday, we went to see Nana and Grampa Ralph.  The girls had a play date with the grandparents, while Dustan and I went to lunch and shopping for things we won't be able to buy for a long time, but it is fun to pretend. We got home late, ate a Daddy made dinner which was fabulous, and went to bed.

On Sunday, Dustan was suppose to put up the shower walls while the girls and I went to church, but when we got home... no go.  After looking under the bathtub, he realized there is more to do before those walls can go up.  So still no shower in my master bath:), but we were able to play all day, and enjoy daddy some more.  

Over all it was a break to remember.  Boy, I sure do love my family.

P.S. We woke up this morning, and decided Sophie would try to go to school in "pantie panties" today.(That's big girl underwear for those not in the Thrift household) we will see how we do.

So, no Tinkerbell on Wednesday.  I picked up Sophie from day school with a diaper on, but I have faith my little girl will be watching the newest Tinkerbell before I can blink.
Lily has been occasionally eating solid food, and we tried carrots yesterday.  She loved them.  I poured some on her tray, and she made her own masterpiece.
Dustan came home from the golf tournament, and you could feel the excitement from the girls when he walked in the house.
I was just reminded from a friend as I told her of the many times I was up last night with Lily, what a blessing it is to have that problem.  I love these girls so much, and to have their Daddy is a gift I forget to be grateful for sometimes.

Update

So Lily was born Sept 14 2012.  Life has been crazy wonderful since then.  The Latest news in the Thrift household is Lily is super fussy and wanting to eat every couple of hours, chewing on everything and anything (see above pic), and has moved into the guest room to give mommy and daddy a break at night.  The trick of moving her into the guest room hasn't really worked for mommy, because I still have to get up to feed her.  Daddy, however, seems to think its a good idea.  Dad is at a golf tournament, so its just me and the girls for a few days.  Sophie is doing great at Potty training. She gets a reward for going in the potty (Curious George is our best friend right now).  If we come home with a dry pull up today, we may rent Tinkerbell ( I have not decided yet) Hope to give further update next time.

Pictures with Santa

Sophie's School had a visit from Santa.

I wasn't able to be there, but as you can see, after a week of showing Sophie pictures of Santa to get her use to him, it seems to have paid off. No screaming or tears to speak of.

I must say I am really quite proud of her.

Today is a great day!

Just a reminder to myself what a great day it is. The sun is shinning, I have people I trust watching Sophie. Dustan and I both have work, and most of all our Lord and Savior is right here loving me daily. Pretty awesome huh?

Man it is December already!
We are doing crazy good. Dustan is the Director of Sports Medicine at TAMU-Commerce, and I am still working in the Interlibrary Loan Department at the University Library. Sophie is attending Noah's Nursery at the local Methodist Church. We had a hard football season this year and only won one game, but we are looking forward to seeing what the basketball teams can do this year. Christmas parties are starting up and we would love to see every one, but of course we know that is a lofty goal. Christmas decorations are up and Sophie is trying hard to touch each and every ornament on the tree.
