First trip to Houston

So... this last weekend was our first "big" trip with Sophie. We went down to Houston to visit family and friends. It was a great trip. I was a little worried about how Sophie would travel for such a long ride. She was a trooper! She slept most of the way, and after she ate on the rode we were almost there so she stayed up for most of the trip after that. We stayed with some friends, and got to see lots of family for the first time since Sophie was born. Sophie slept just like she would have at home (naps during the day were a little harder). We were gone Thursday through Saturday, and when we got home she was sooo tired! She slept straight through from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. AMAZING! We got back on schedule on Sunday and ready for Day-care on Monday. Thanks to everyone that made this trip happen...

Sophie Sophie Sophie

So that's what goes through my head 24 hours a day. Even as I sleep my dreams are about Sophie. (At least I am dreaming again:)).
I have to say... last night I got 7.5 hours of sleep straight. I woke up quite confused, and couldn't figure out why my clock said 5:58am. I had gone to bed a little after 10:00 and Dustan feed her around 12:30 without waking me up. She then slept for 5.5 hours without waking up(crazy).
I am so grateful for the sleep, but I don't want to get my hopes up that it might happen again tonight. (but if it did that would be awesome!)
She's 2 months and 2 weeks old, and she is doing great! Eating, sleeping, playing, and pooping. All the things a baby should be doing. I really am falling more in love with her each day.

4 weeks old

Sophie is 4 weeks old. It's hard to believe that it's been a month. The time has flown by. We are figuring each other ouit slowly but surely. A big thanks goes out to all the family and friends that have kept us in your thoughts and prayers. Love you

She is here

Sophie Marie Thrift was born on April 24 2010. 8 lbs 3 oz @ 10:04 pm. She is awesome, and the Lord is even cooler for giving her to us to take care of.

Feeling really pregnant today!

So I am feeling really pregnant today :)... I seem to be moving at about a snails pace, my ankles are the size of softballs, and my head seems a little bit more cloudy than normal. A few days ago i didn't even feel my tummy, but today i seem to be extra big in the mid region. Crazy the ups and downs. Overall I am feeling fine, just really really pregnant. I get asked if I am ready to have this baby, but even with being uncomfortable, I know that when the baby gets here I my be just as uncomfortable for differnt reasons:)... So, no my friends I am not ready to have this baby, give me a few more days (maybe weeks) and we can talk then! Due Date: April 24th.

What a great Easter Weekend

Dustan and I had a great weekend! On Friday we had a "quite" night at home with the amazing Sherlock Homes played by Robert Downing Jr. and Saturday morning Dustan went to work "Football Practice", while I worked in the yard (yaha for Spring). That afternoon we took a trip to Ikea in Frisco to see some friends that had traveled in from Arkansas to shop the amazing store that is seems to never end-- (Lissa and Erik so awesome to see you guys)-- Then we traveled on down to Garland to see my folks and spend the night so we could wake up Easter Sunday with them. I happened to be awake when the Easter Bunny came by with my basket, and it seemed to look alot like my mother:)... Church was (as always on Easter morning) an adventure, and when we got home eggs were waiting to be decorated. Dinner was fantastic - I really love it when I eat a home cooked meal I did not have to make:), and then we had a hunt... if I do say so myself, even with my belly I was able to keep up, and get my fair share of the candy.
Thank you Jesus for giving the gift of your life so that we may live, and then having the power to rise on the third day... You changed everything.
