11 hours straight!

Lily, my little champion, slept 11 hours straight without waking dad or me up.
I have to admit that when I woke up at 6:00 this morning I had to turn the monitor up to make sure I could still hear her breathing.  I don't know if I really could hear her breathing, but I did hear her move, and that seemed good enough for me.  I went in at 6:45, and she was all smiles ready to start the day.  I have to admit, I was getting worn down with the night feedings, and I fully realize this my not last, but I am taking what I can get, when I can get it.  She is a precious gift I have been given, let me remember that throughout the difficult moments as well as easier times like these.
Love you Lily Goose.

Weeds, Dress Up, and Art

The last few days have been beautiful. (as i sit in my office writing this, I am watching the freezing rain dump outside, Oh the joy of Texas weather).  Anyhow, the girls and I have had a blast outside moving stones, and digging dirt. Sophie found the awesome wild onions that are growing in our yard, and I had to say I was quite impressed with how pretty I thought they were.

Sophie decided she wanted to play dress up, and pulled her box out.  She found the crown from her first birthday and crowned Lily queen.

Here a quick picture of two of the kids that take art Lessons from me.  For those that talk to me regularly you know these kids are pretty awesome!

A Party time of Year

On Saturday as we worked in our yard, Dustan looked up at me and said "what's the deal with all the bounce houses?"
As I looked around I noticed two of our neighbors on streets that paralleled, had bounce houses set up in their yard.  "hum" I said.  "It is birthday season, and finally pretty enough to be outside."
That being said, Sophie had a party at one of the Commerce Parks on Sunday.
Her class which is full of 2 and 3 yr olds showed up with their moms and dads.  I strapped Lily to me in the carrier, and held Sophie's hand as we took the long walk from our car to the playground.
I must brag, I think Sophie was the best behaved kid there (under the age of 4), and she seemed to have a really great time.  Cake and Ice Cream where served, presents where opened, and Playing commenced.  Sophie even told me when she needed to go potty, and I can proudly say we made it to the potties (which are about half a mile walk from the playground).  When we got back to the party, Soph wanted a drink so we got one and sat down with the birthday girl.  Goodies were handed out, and I figured out that I could probably brag Sophie away from the park so....
I told her that she could only have her "nummies" when we got in the car.  So we went shortly after that with no tears or yells.  Best trip to the park so far!
